Monday Post-Thanksgiving Weigh-In

It's not good, but it could be worse: 175.0, up 3.8 from a week ago. I now have 10 pounds to lose to reach my Jan. 1st goal of 165.

Like Mallory, my sodium intake has been really high. Unlike Mallory, so have my calories. So, those are what I'm really going to focus on this week.

Goals for today:
track calories, stay within limit
watch sodium
drink 3 Nalgenes of water (I haven't done very well with this for the past week, either)

  1. Yeah, gaining sucks, but I am pretty sure we are all in the same boat. I talked to Lori this morning and she was on the way to the gym, which is good. Do you have a goal for your sodium? I picked 1500 but I didn't really have any basis for that number, it was just less than what livestrong recommended but it didn't seem too low.

  3. Gaining TOTALLY sucks.... I'll post later.

So when are you planning on going to the gym this week? I just got back from kick-it but other than that, I don't really have any gym plans for the rest of the week. So if there's a class that you want to go to, let me know and maybe I'll go with you. Do you have a class schedule?

  4. The good news is that we all atleast have a reason to have gained weight. Damn you Thanksgiving! The holiday's are so hard!

  5. I'm with ya, Carrie. Why does EVERYTHING have to center on food? Of course if it wasn't I would totally be whining about how there was no food. Ah well, whatta gonna do?

Lori - I don't have a class schedule yet. I don't actually have a pass yet. I just did my payroll paper work today. So, hopefully we'll get that taken care of in the next few days. I really want to do some cardio!

  6. And Mallory, I don't have a number for my sodium. I just looked at it and I'm already over 2000 for the day (thanks delicious chili). But I'm not over what livestrong thinks I can eat - I'm at 90%. So, I don't know, maybe anywhere between 1500 and 2000?

As for the gifts, I'm making putting together a photo album for my grandma of pictures from the last couple of years. She's really down and doesn't want any pictures of anyone hanging on the wall and this way she can look at them if she wants, but put it in a drawer if she doesn't want. And for my dad, I'm going to start an album for his '55 Ford that he's been planning to restore since I was like, 8. And I'm going to teach him how to use his camera and how to download and print pictures so that maybe he'll feel comfortable doing it and will get started. I think the technology intimidates him a little.

  7. Oh and I'm making a fleece blanket for my friend heather because she's always cold. Those make good gifts, but the fleece fabric can be a little pricey depending on what you pick out and how big you want to make it.
